Ritual Acquires Secures Canadian Rights to Max Walker-Silverman’s ‘Rebuilding’
Press release

Montreal-based boutique distributor Ritual has acquired Canadian rights to Max Walker-Silverman’s Sundance title Rebuilding, starring Josh O’Connor (History of Sound, Challengers). The announcement comes on the eve of theatrical launch for Rebuilding in the U.S. by Bleecker Street Media, with film opening in select cinemas on November 14, before expanding nationwide on November 21.

Ritual is planning a progressive theatrical rollout in select cities across Canada in December, followed by a nationwide expansion in January 2026.

Set in the aftermath of devastating wildfires, Rebuilding follows a divorced rancher (O’Connor) as he attempts to start anew within a temporary trailer community. The film also stars Meghann Fahy (The White Lotus), Lily LaTorre (Run Rabbit Run), Kali Reis (True Detective), and Amy Madigan (Field of Dreams, Twice in a Lifetime).

Ritual is Canada’s only all-rights distribution company entirely dedicated to international festival discoveries, restored modern masterpieces, as well as bold contemporary films. Recent releases include Yorgos Lanthimos’ Dogtooth: The 4K Restoration and Super Happy Forever by Kohei Igarashi. Paris-based MK2 handles international sales of the picture.
